The main sexual themes in my books are hypnosis, incest, massive breasts, bimbofication, mindbreak, and male superiority. All my books will have at least one of those elements, but more than likely will feature a combination of two or more.
Not every sexual kink has a direct psychological origin, but I think it's fair to say that the extremely large busts that are commonly featured in my work are a point of catharsis for me. If it's a dealbreaker for you, then I apologize, because it is not an element that I plan to remove.
I do! I'm quite picky with my clients, and only take on commissions when I have the time and when I like the project. But if I accept, then I promise that I'll be a delight. I collaborate strongly, engage in pre- and post- commission discussions (within reason), and don't charge for extra words past 20% over the original commission length.
My rates are $0.06 / word and require a minimum of 3000 words. Discounts can occasionally be discussed for longer-term multi-part commissions, but never for a first project with a new client.
This is a highly contentious topic, to be sure.
I have been blocked by fellow authors (whom I like and I respect) for my stance on this. Although I understand the charged nature around the topic, my position is considered, and I'm disappointed by the swift moral judgement that others have made.
It boils down to this for me:
When it comes to the moral opposition, I recognize that the models are built on stolen art. However, I find it hypocritical to treat this situation as unique. If you live in North America, you live on stolen land. If you buy fast food or give money to most corporations, you are funding theft and exploitation. If you publish on Amazon, the hypocrisy should be self-explanatory.
This isn't to say that the original theft is justified or that we should all just shrug our shoulders in the face of injustice, I'm just saying that it's fighting the wrong fight. It's not a perfect analogy, but it's like yelling at poor people for shopping at Wal-Mart. Sure, they're simply spending money to ensure their continued subjugation, but it's hardly their fault nor responsibility.
Additionally, I don't employ any DRM on my books. If people want to steal them, it's pretty easy to do so. Put focus on making good work and the rest will follow.
This is a little up to you.
Do you have a preference for heavy hypnosis themes? Are you a fan of busty Mommy types? Do you want to read about complex women learning to believe that their place is in the kitchen, serving men?
Go to my Browse Books section and find something that speaks to you.
Even starting with something in the Lost & Found or a later chapter in a mini-series isn't going to hurt. Every book is written to be enjoyed on its own.
It is!
At least in comparison.
The stories are still the same and they're still amazing and worth every penny, but it's true that I don't give my Amazon store nearly the same care that I give to Smashwords.
The reason for this is because Amazon only accepts a small amount of my content and I find their backend, reporting, and customer service to be far inferior to Smashwords/Draft2Digital.
If you found me on Amazon and prefer to buy my books there, I'll continue to publish to that storefront (and things are better now since I've purchased Scriviner), but know that my preferred store is Smashwords and I'd rather you purchase my work there.
I love questions! If your question wasn't answered here, please send me a note to nel@nelsymlit.com or fill out the form on the front page.
If I hear a lot of the same questions, I'll add to this page!
